I was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1964 and raised in Wichita, Kansas.  I attended Wichita public schools, graduating from Wichita - South High School in 1983 with honors.  Following high school graduation, I attended Wichita State University receiving my degree in psychology in 1987.  While at WSU, I married a WSU graduate student studying geology who is from Maine and have been married to him ever since.  I next attended Syracuse University Law School in upstate New York, graduating in 1990 with my law degree.

The 1990s were spent living in Kansas City, Missouri.  My first employment as an attorney was working for Legal Aid of Western Missouri from 1990 to 1993.  The next seven years were spent working for the law firm of Shughart Thompson & Kilroy as their pro bono attorney.

In 2000, I moved back to Wichita to be close to my family and raise our three children.  Upon returning to Wichita, I first worked as an attorney for Kansas Legal Services until 2004.  In 2004 I opened my own law practice and have been a private practitioner since then.  I have been a member of the Kansas Bar Association and the Wichita Bar Association since 2000.

My areas of practice since graduating from Syracuse Law School on 1990 have been with families and children.  I believe in providing the best legal advice for families as they try to navigate the legal system.
